The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (Campco) Ltd has contributed ₹5 crore to the National Defence Fund (NDF) in view of the recent escalation of national security concerns and the heightened vigilance along the borders.

A Kishore Kumar Kodgi, President of Campco, said the cooperative has always stood at the forefront of national service and humanitarian contributions.

“In the past too, we have extended financial support to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund during times of natural disasters and national emergencies. At this crucial juncture, when our Armed Forces are bravely defending the country against terrorism and external threats, it is our moral duty to stand with them. On behalf of Campco and the entire farming community we represent, we are proud to contribute ₹5 crore to the National Defence Fund,” he said.

The National Defence Fund, administered by the Government of India, is dedicated to the welfare of Armed Forces and Paramilitary personnel and their dependents. Campco donated ₹5 crore through a cheque drawn on the State Bank of India.
