Odisha exports 41.35 tonnes of fruits & vegetables in first 2 months of 2025-26

Odisha adds France and Belgium to its mango export destinations.
Odisha exported a total of 41.35 tonnes of fruits and vegetables to key international markets such as Dubai, London, Birmingham, Rome, Venice, Dublin, France and Belgium during the first two months of 2025-26. Out of the total exports this fiscal, 30.53 tonnes comprises of mangoes — particularly premium varieties such as Amrapalli and Dussehri.
This week alone marked a significant breakthrough, with 6.7 tonnes of mangoes exported. Golden Agro Farmer Producer Company Ltd (FPCL) facilitated the first-ever shipment to France, and Saptasajya FPCL sent mangoes to Belgium.
A media statement said these achievements have been made possible through the leadership of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (DA&FE) of Odisha, with Palladium India acting as the Technical Support Unit for marketing under the PSFPO (Promotion and Stabilization of Farmer Producer Organizations) Project, supported by the Gates Foundation.
Market diversification
The export expansion has not only created market diversification but also brought more than 60 per cent increase in price realization for farmers, it said, adding, the current momentum reflects the ambitious targets set by the Odisha government in establishing the state as a major agri-export hub.
Quoting Radhamadhab Rath, Farmer member of Golden Agro FPCL, the statement said: “We never imagined our mangoes would reach France. This opportunity has brought better income and pride to our community. We thank the DA&FE and Palladium for guiding us through this journey.”
Biswajit Behera, Project Team Lead of PSFPO and Associate Director of Palladium, said the recent successful mango exports to new destinations such as France and Belgium, and the addition of new commodities are major steps toward global market integration for farmers and FPOs in Odisha.
“Through our market systems development approach, we’re working closely with the department to boost the market responsiveness of smallholder farmers and connect local supply chains to global demand. Our vision is clear: strengthen FPOs as business entities, expand export opportunities, and help increase the incomes and resilience of smallholder farmers across Odisha,” Behera said.
