IHH Healthcare Expands Presence in India with Plans for 2000 New Beds by 2028, ETHealthworld

New Delhi: Multi national hospital chain IHH Healthcare who holds majority stakes in corporate chains Fortis and Gleneagles, has announced plans to add 2000 new beds in India by 2028.

While presenting its new brand identity the Malaysian healthcare giant said, “Fortis Healthcare and Gleneagles Healthcare India collaboration is driving stronger business performance and sustainable growth. IHH is harnessing operational and financial efficiencies to power its ambitious plan of adding around 2,000 new beds in India by 2028.”

Currently in India, IHH operates 5000 beds across 35 hospitals in 11 states and recently Fortis inked a collaboration agreement with Ekana Group, to oversee the operations and management (O&M) of a 550 bedded greenfield super specialty hospital near Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

Besides India, the MNC chain operates in Turkey, Singapore and several other North Asia states under brands including Island, Mount Elizabeth, Pantai, Parkway and Prince Court.

Speaking about IHH’s new brand identity, Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Dr Haji Dzulkefly Ahmad, Health Minister of Malaysia, said, “Private providers like IHH do more than deliver care. They create jobs, drive investment, spur innovation, along with easing congestion in our public system by absorbing patient volumes, offering specialist services, and reducing waiting times for patients who seek faster access to care.”
