GHIAL acquires 70% stake in ESR GMR Logistics Park

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports Limited, announced the acquisition of a 70 per cent stake in ESR GMR Logistics Park Private Limited (EGLPPL).

GMR Hyderabad Aerotropolis Ltd (GHAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of GHIAL, already holds the remaining 30 per cent stake in EGLPPL, according to a press release issued by GMR on Thursday.

EGLPPL was initially formed as a joint venture—between GHAL and ESR Hyderabad 1 Pte Ltd—on January 8, 2020, for the development of warehousing and logistics parks in Hyderabad.

The company has since developed approximately 1.7 million square feet of industrial and logistics infrastructure.

With this strategic acquisition, GHIAL—through itself and GHAL—now owns 100 per cent of EGLPPL, making it a wholly owned subsidiary.

Commenting on the development, Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GHIAL, said, “This acquisition marks a pivotal advancement in our vision to transform Hyderabad Airport into a vibrant hub for integrated logistics and industrial development.” “With GMR Hyderabad Aerotropolis Ltd already holding the remaining 30 per cent stake, this consolidation enables us to fully integrate EGLPPL into our long-term Airport Land Development strategy,” he added.
