Call to make Kerala a global hub for aviation industry

The Kerala Aviation Summit 2025 concluded in Kochi has called for transforming the State into a global hub for the aviation industry by integrating tourism and aviation sectors for sustainable growth.
The two-day summit, attended by policymakers and industry leaders, highlighted that Cochin International Airport could play a crucial role in making Kerala a global hub.
The central theme of the summit was the sustainable growth achieved by integrating aviation, tourism, and logistics. Experts noted that these sectors, by working together, can boost economic growth, enhance the traveller experience, and attract more international tourists. The need to implement innovative ideas was also emphasized. Discussions covered improving airport infrastructure, increasing international flight connectivity, promoting regional air travel, and implementing sustainable practices.
Aviation industry experts and airline representatives shared insights on new market trends and the potential for new flight routes to key global hubs. The summit’s slogan was “Giving Wings to Kerala.”
Panel discussions focused on the topics of “Tourism Potential and the Aviation Sector” and “Air Cargo Logistics, Innovation, Infrastructure, and Future Potential.”
S. Suhas, managing direcrtor, CIAL said that the biggest achievement of the summit was the realization of Kerala’s immense untapped potential. He described the discussions as stimulating for the aviation sector and assured that CIAL would provide all necessary support for the aviation industry and economic growth of the State through infrastructure development and policy-making.
M.Anil Kumar, Mayor, Kochi Municipal Corporation noted that CIAL has successfully proven to the world that it is an excellent model of public-private partnership.
KPMG Director of Mobility and Logistics Dhaval Raut presented a report. FICCI Kerala Head Savio Mathew and CIAL Airport Director G. Manu also spoke.
