Vaishnaw: India to emerge as ‘product nation’

Bengaluru: Union IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said India’s trusted position in IP protection, stable foreign policy, the launch of the Critical Minerals Mission, and a techno-legal approach to AI safety are together pushing the country towards becoming not just a semiconductor design and manufacturing hub but also a ‘product nation’. “Semiconductor Mission 2.0 is expanding its scope beyond design and fabs to include the manufacturing of equipment and materials, with the goal of building the complete semiconductor stack domestically-from design and production to talent,” Vaishnaw said on Tuesday.
