UP Government Approves Rs 13.46 Crore for Modernizing Hospitals with Advanced Medical Equipment, ETHealthworld

Lucknow: To ensure faster and more accurate diagnosis and improved surgical outcomes, the Uttar Pradesh govt has approved a budget of Rs 13.46 crore to upgrade 20 hospitals across the state with modern medical equipment, Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak said on Friday. The funds will be used to procure digital X-ray, ECG and ultrasound machines, as well as advanced phaco machines for cataract surgeries.

“The hospitals are being equipped with modern machines so that patients can receive timely and precise medical care. Accurate diagnosis is the first step towards effective treatment,” Pathak said. He added that Rs 7.45 crore of the total budget has already been sanctioned specifically for equipment procurement.

A newly constructed 50-bed hospital in Mirzapur will feature a dedicated ophthalmology department and a separate ward for eye care, Pathak said. While the building is complete, the hospital requires an operation theatre and modern equipment for full functionality. To this end, the government has approved Rs 60.18 lakh for administrative and financial support to equip the hospital with state-of-the-art facilities.
