President Donald Trump pardoned Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, months after he served four months in prison for violating U.S. money laundering laws tied to child abuse, drugs, and terrorism. Trump defended the pardon, claiming it was requested by “a lot of very good people,” and yelled at a reporter questioning the decision, calling them “fake news”, a fiery exchange that went viral on X. Zhao’s companies had partnered with Trump-linked firms, including Dominari Holdings, where Trump’s sons sit on the advisory board, and according to The Wall Street Journal, the Trump family’s crypto firm World Liberty Financial had also held talks with Binance.
