Paras Defence wins ₹71.68 cr DRDO order for submarine optronic periscopes

Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd. on Monday announced that it has secured a ₹71.68-crore order from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the supply of two Optronic Periscopes for submarine applications. The company said the order is to be completed by September 2026.

Optronic periscopes are advanced electro-optical systems that provide submarines with enhanced surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting capabilities. The equipment plays a critical role in strengthening the operational readiness of the Indian Navy. The latest contract further underscores Paras Defence’s growing role in supplying high-precision indigenous technologies for India’s strategic platforms.

“We are honoured to have partnered with DRDO in this endeavour. This order not only reflects our technical expertise but also aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, promoting self-reliance in defence manufacturing,” said Munjal Shah, Managing Director of Paras Defence & Space Technologies.

Paras Defence, which has over four decades of experience, has been involved in developing technologies for rockets, missiles, naval systems and electronic warfare.
