Net direct tax collections up 7% at Rs 12.9 lakh crore

NEW DELHI: Net direct tax collection has grown 7% so far this fiscal year to over Rs 12.9 lakh crore on higher corporate tax mop-up and slower refunds. Refund issuances dropped 18% to over Rs 2.4 lakh crore between April 1 and Nov 10. Net corporate tax collection during the period stood about Rs 5.4 lakh crore, up from Rs 5.1 lakh crore in the same period in 2024.Net direct tax collection, which include personal income tax and corporate tax, was about Rs 12.1 lakh crore in the year-ago period. Gross direct tax collection, before adjusting refunds, stood at over Rs 15.4 lakh crore so far , up 2.2% over the year-ago period.In the current FY, govt has projected its direct tax collection at Rs 25.2 lakh crore, up 12.7% YoY.
