Mangaluru airport passenger traffic rises by 10.95% in H1 2025-26

Mangaluru International Airport handled a total of 1.24 million passengers in the first six months of 2025-26 against 1.12 million passengers in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, registering a growth of 10.95 per cent.
The airport witnessed a 22.10 per cent growth in the international passenger traffic and a 6.16 per cent growth in domestic passenger traffic during April-September 2025-26.
The airport handled 0.41 million international passengers in the first six months of 2025-26 against 0.33 million passengers in the corresponding period of the previous year. The number of domestic passengers handled at the airport increased to 0.83 million in H1 2025-26 from 0.78 million in H1 2024-25.
The period also recorded the second highest single-day passenger traffic, facilitating 8103 passengers on April 12 2025. The airport has since surpassed this mark by handling 8168 passengers on October 1 2025.
A media statement sad that the airport sustained operational momentum and continued to uphold its role as the second busiest airport in Karnataka despite disruptions due to global and regional events.
The airport facilitated 9245 air traffic movements (ATMs) during the first half of 2025-26 against 7956 in the corresponding period of 2024-25, marking a growth of 16.20 per cent.
During H1 2025-26, international ATMs reached 2218, a growth of 14.32 percent; and domestic ATMs reached 6933, a growth of 17.70 per cent. The airport also handled 94 chartered flight movements in the first six months.
The statement said that Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi were the leading domestic destinations during the Dasara holiday season, followed by Hyderabad and Chennai. Dubai and Abu Dhabi emerged as international destinations of choice for passengers during the period, it said.
