Lilavati Hospital group signs MoU for new hospital in Guwahati, ET HealthWorld

Mumbai: The Lilavati Hospital Group recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Assam during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit.

The agreement outlines plans for a 250-bed super specialty hospital in Guwahati, with an estimated investment of ₹300 crore.
The planned hospital aims to enhance healthcare infrastructure in the region, with a focus on critical specialties such as oncology and cardiology.

The facility will incorporate advanced robotic technology and will be staffed by trained medical professionals.
Given Assam’s geographic position in the Northeast, bordering Bhutan and Bangladesh, the hospital is expected to cater to both local patients and those seeking medical care from neighboring states and countries.

Prashant Mehta stated, “This project is a testament to our dedication to expanding access to quality healthcare. Assam’s strategic location and the strong support from the state government make it an ideal hub for medical tourism and specialized medical services.”

The project is scheduled for completion within the next two to three years. Mehta acknowledged the support of the Assam government, including the Chief Minister and Health Minister, in strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
