India allows export of 500,000 tonnes of wheat flour
India on Friday allowed
500,000 metric tonnes of wheat flour and related products to be
exported, the government said, as supplies have improved in the
world’s second-biggest producer of the grain.
New Delhi had banned wheat exports in May 2022 after a
scorching heatwave curtailed output and pushed domestic prices
to record highs.
