IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani inaugurated IFFCO Nanoventions’ new Innovation Hub near Coimbatore to promote climate-resilient agriculture, soil health and sustainable nano-based farming.

IFFCO Nanoventions, the wholly-owned nanotechnology arm of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), has opened an Innovation hub at its research and manufacturing centre in Thondamuthur near Coimbatore.

The facility was inaugurated by IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani recently. Officials said the new hub will help promote the use of advanced technology, especially nanotechnology, to support farmers and improve farm productivity in a sustainable way.

Smaller, smarter inputs

IFFCO Nanoventions has developed nano-based fertilisers such as nano Urea and nano DAP, which are now used by farmers across India. With these products, crops absorb nutrients easily. Farmers need less fertiliser and still get better harvests, while soil and water remain healthier.

Advanced nano hub

The Coimbatore centre is among the most advanced agricultural nanotechnology facilities in the country. It has modern laboratories, pilot manufacturing units, and field-testing facilities. Several products developed here have been approved by the Centre and included under the Fertiliser Control Order.

The new Innovation Hub will focus on climate-resilient farming, soil health, and sustainable agriculture.

Nano fertiliser push

Speaking at the event, Sanghani said cooperative-led research is vital to address challenges such as climate change and rising input costs. He urged officials and scientists to fast-track research and promote IFFCO’s nano fertilisers as sustainable alternatives that improve soil health and support Atmanirbhar Bharat.

New bio-stimulant

IFFCO Nanoventions launched a new bio-stimulant called DharAmrut, meaning “nectar of the earth”.
