Hatsun Agro disclosure slip: Unaudited December-quarter financials leaked via WhatsApp; internal probe ordered

Hatsun Agro Product has reported an unusual corporate governance lapse after draft, unaudited financial details for the December 2025 quarter were mistakenly shared on a senior executive’s personal WhatsApp status. In a regulatory filing, the dairy products maker said one of its key managerial personnel accidentally uploaded a “first-cut draft” of the company’s unaudited financial statements for the quarter ended December 2025. The post went up around 5 pm on January 4, 2026, and was meant only for internal circulation with the accounts team.According to the company, the WhatsApp status was viewed by about 19 people from the executive’s contact list, including a few company insiders. The post was taken down within an hour after the error was noticed. Hatsun Agro said the information shared could qualify as unpublished price sensitive information, even though the figures were only preliminary. The company stressed that the numbers were in draft form and are still subject to change, as the limited review process for the December quarter is ongoing. The financial results for the quarter have not yet been officially announced. As a precaution and in keeping with what it described as its commitment to strong corporate governance, Hatsun Agro decided to formally disclose the incident to the stock exchanges, reported ET. The company said the matter will be placed before its audit committee and board of directors.Hatsun Agro has also initiated an internal inquiry under Sebi regulations and its own insider trading code.
