Flight operations at Navi Mumbai airport will begin from December 25, Akasa Air opens bookings for four cities

It will be a Christmas day opening for Navi Mumbai airport.

On Friday evening Akasa Air opened reservations for flights connecting Delhi, Goa (Mopa), Kochi and Ahmedabad with Navi Mumbai.

While flights from Delhi and Goa will be operated daily, flights from Kochi will be operated five days a week. There will be only weekly flight between Navi Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Akasa Air informed travel agents.

The Navi Mumbai airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month.

In the first month of operations the airport will function for twelve hours (8 am to 8 pm) with 8-10 flights per hour. These will scale up gradually to 20 and 30 movements per hour.
