CIAL launches next-generation firefighting equipment

Cochin International Airport Ltd has taken a significant step toward strengthening its emergency response infrastructure with the launch of next-gen firefighting equipment under its Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) department.

The event was inaugurated by P Rajeeve, the State Industries Minister. The ceremony featured the official commissioning and demonstration of Articulated Boomlift and Multipurpose Firefighting Robot.

Articulated Boom Lift — A hydraulically operated, multi-jointed aerial platform designed for high-elevation rescue and access operations. The equipment can cover a maximum height of 28 metres and has a load capacity up to 250 kg.

Multipurpose Firefighting Robot — A robust, remote-controlled unit designed to operate in extreme fire conditions while ensuring personnel safety. Equipped with an inbuilt camera and 360-degree operational capability, it enables efficient navigation and real-time monitoring in hazardous environments.

A live demonstration followed, showcasing the operational versatility and readiness of the newly inducted equipment, underlining CIAL’s commitment to international safety standards and innovation.
