Organised by YouTuber Anthony Po, the contest attracted hundreds of participants and was promoted with flyers offering a $50 prize for the best look-alike. However, as the Timothée doppelgangers walked around, police arrived at the scene. Organizers were fined $500 for holding an “unpermitted costume contest,” and at least one contestant was taken away in handcuffs. Earlier this month, the trailer for Timothée’s upcoming film, A Complete Unknown, was released, with the movie set to hit theaters on December 25, 2024.
