Amid challenges, FACT clock ₹4,050.91 crore turnover, ₹41.23 crore net profit in FY25
Despite facing challenges arising out of raw material volatility, constrained supplies and exchange rate fluctuations, the public sector Fertilisers And Chemicals Travancore Ltd. (FACT) has recorded a turnover of ₹4,050.91 crore and a net profit of ₹41.23 crore in FY25
On the production front, the company achieved a total fertiliser output of 8.95 lakh tonnes, comprising 6,44,768 tonnes of Factamfos; 2,50,578 tonnes of Ammonium Sulphate, which is the highest annual production surpassing the previous best of 2,45,676 tonnes during 2020-21.
Addressing the 81st annual general meeting, S C Mudgericker, the Chairman and Managing Director of the company, said the FY25 was marked by challenges with global raw material prices fluctuated sharply, particularly in the wake of the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict, which disrupted supply chains.
Total sales reached 11.63 lakh tonnes across all products. Ammonium Sulphate sales rose 20 per cent to 2,66,683 tonnes. MOP sales surged 247 per cent, reaching 82,949 tonnes compared to 22,884 tonnes in the previous year. Organic fertilisers sales hit an all-time high of 20,734 tonnes.
Madhya Pradesh was added to FACT’s operational territory, with the supply of 25,000 tonnes of Factamfos. The company also established new marketing zones in Kadapa and Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), Nizamabad (Telangana), and Bhubaneswar (Odisha), while a new State office was inaugurated in Sholapur in Maharashtra.
FACT is preparing to enter Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh in 2025-26. It continues to hold a strong market share of over 30 per cent in NPK 20:20:0:13 across South India.
Recognising the importance of raw material security, diversification of sourcing, and strengthening resilient supply chains, the company has been actively working to build long-term raw material tie-ups, enhance capacity for critical intermediates such as phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid, and expand its market presence.
To ensure raw material security, it signed MoU with OCP Nutricrops, Morocco for supply of DAP and TSP; long-term agreement with SNPT, Togo for Rock Phosphate (3 years) and strategic domestic and international arrangements for uninterrupted supplies.
On the capacity expansion, he said construction activities of the 1,650 TPD NPK Plant is progressing, increasing annual fertiliser capacity by over 5 lakh tonnes; enhancements to Phosphoric Acid and Sulphuric Acid production; expanded storage facilities for Sulphuric Acid.
