(2 of 1974) , S.482— Abetment of suicide – Quashing of charge-sheet – Prayer for – Appellant accused was mother of main accused who was having love affair with deceased – Accused along with her family did not attempt to put any pressure on deceased to end relationship between deceased and her son – On the contrary, it was deceased’s family that was unhappy with relationship – Even if accused expressed her disapproval towards marriage, it did not rise to level of direct or indirect instigation of abetting suicide – Further, remark such as asking deceased to not be alive if she cannot live without marrying her lover would also not gain status of abetment – Proceedings were quashed as regards the accused mother.
