Bhopal: In a major boost to healthcare in the city, AIIMS Bhopal is enhancing patient care by adopting cutting-edge Digital Droplet PCR (ddPCR) technology, a highly sensitive and precise tool for diagnosing rare and complex diseases.
According to an AIIMS official, this advanced method enables the detection of minute genetic changes and low-abundance DNA or RNA sequences that traditional tests often miss, further facilitating early and accurate diagnosis.
Patients with rare genetic disorders or complex infections will benefit from quicker and more reliable results, leading to timely and personalised treatment strategies that can improve outcomes significantly.
The ddPCR technology also supports non-invasive monitoring by detecting circulating tumor DNA in blood, helping clinicians track disease progression and treatment response in cancers and other chronic conditions.
