Telangana’s HILT policy to generate ₹10,776 crore revenue: Bhatti

The Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation (HILT) Policy will generate ₹10,776 crore revenue for the State Exchequer, according to Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.

The government has introduced the Policy to be implemented within a six-month timeframe, in a transparent manner with uniform rules applicable to everyone, he said in the State Assembly.

If the HILT Policy had not been introduced, the revenue would have been only ₹12 lakh per acre. However, under the new policy, the State would now earn ₹7 crore per acre, he said.

While the previous government’s freehold and grid policies generated only ₹574 crore, the HILT Policy has been designed to bring ₹10,776 crore into the State exchequer.

Opposition concerns addressed

The government was fully prepared to clarify and dispel any doubts raised by the opposition, Bhatti said and asserted that the government was ready to face any inquiry by any agency into all transactions from 2014 up to the present HILT Policy. The Policy was brought not only to protect Hyderabad city but the entire State, he added.

To make the city pollution-free, polluting industries were being shifted outside the Outer Ring Road, diesel buses in the city were being phased out and moved outside Hyderabad, and electric buses were being introduced, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
