It will be a Christmas day opening for Navi Mumbai airport.

Akasa Air and IndiGo have opened bookings connecting Navi Mumbai to four and ten destinations respectively.

Starting December 25, Akasa Air will connect Navi Mumbai with Delhi, Kochi, Ahmedabad and Goa (Mopa). In addition to these four cities, IndiGo will also fly to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangalore and Nagpur.

As per the current schedule, IndiGo’s Bengaluru – Navi Mumbai flight will be the first commercial service to the airport arriving at 8 a.m.

Air India Express is yet to announce its schedule of Navi Mumbai flights.

Initially the airport is expected to handle around 100-110 flights daily with around 8-10 departures per hour. Flights will be operated for twelve hours from 8 am to 8 pm in the launch phase.

IndiGo will operate daily flights to Bengaluru, Kochi, Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mangalore and Nagpur.

Akasa Air will operate daily flights from Delhi and Goa. Flights from Kochi will be operated five days a week. There will be only weekly flight between Navi Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

“Navi Mumbai International Airport strengthens our strategic presence in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and western India, allowing us to optimise capacity deployment and capture new demand,” Akasa Air’s chief commercial officer Praveen Iyer said.

Akasa Air said it will progressively ramp up operations from Navi Mumbai, scaling up to 300 domestic and 50 international weekly departures. As part of the broader network strategy, the airline is also set to ramp up to 10 parking bases by the end of FY27, with a focused international expansion into key Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian markets.
