The Wheat Products Promotion Society (WPPS), in association with the Roller Flour Millers Association of Punjab (RFMAP), is organising a two-day national seminar — “Wheat in Transformation: Preparing for Climate, Quality and Consumption” on November 7–8, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh.
The event aims to bring together the entire wheat value chain—from farmers and breeders to millers, bakers, food processors and researchers—to chart a roadmap for the future of India’s wheat industry in the context of changing climate, consumer trends and global trade opportunities. It will feature participation from across the country, including farmers, wheat breeders, climate scientists, geospatial and geological experts, policymakers, millers, bakers, food processors, technology providers and international experts, creating a multi-disciplinary platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, a WPPS statement said.
Ajay Goyal, Chairman, WPPS, said, “This seminar provides a unique opportunity for the wheat fraternity to come together and address future challenges through innovation, research and collaboration. Our focus is on preparing the sector for climate variability, quality improvement and evolving consumption patterns.”
The seminar will feature five technical sessions covering diverse aspects of the wheat value chain, including Milling, Baking & Processing Technology powered by AI, Advancing Wheat Production and Climate-Resilient Varieties, Industry Requirements & Innovative Ingredients, and Post-Harvest Management, Storage & Quality Assurance.
Experts from ITC Ltd, Nestlé, Grupo Bimbo, Louis Dreyfus Company, Megastar Foods, CSIR–CFTRI, PAU Ludhiana and Skymet Weather Services will lead discussions on technology, sustainability and innovation, the statement said.
Ajay Jindal, President, RFMAP, said, “Hosting this event in Chandigarh—the heart of India’s wheat belt—symbolises Punjab’s pivotal role in shaping the future of the country’s wheat and food industry. The seminar will serve as a platform for bridging the gap between science and industry.”
