Emirates SkyCargo has opened its operations centre at Cochin International Airport, marking a significant boost for international cargo operations from Kochi.

The presence of Emirates SkyCargo is expected to further strengthen cargo connectivity to West Asia and Europe. This development represents a significant step toward transforming Kochi into a major cargo hub.

Alongside this, several international courier services and additional freight forwarders are also planning to commence operations at the airport. Discussions were held between CIAL and Emirates SkyCargo regarding the development of CIAL as a central hub for textile exports from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The collaboration aims to enhance cargo and trade facilities, increase cargo volumes, and promote economic growth in the region, said a press release.

Emirates SkyCargo Manager Ameer Al Zarouni and CIAL Managing Director S Suhas jointly inaugurated the event. SkyCargo Operations Lead Hassan Abdullah, CIAL Head of Cargo Satheesh Kumar Pai, Head of Commercial Manoj P Joseph, and Customs Deputy Commissioner E Vikas were also present.
