Along with the Navi Mumbai airport launch, Modi also flagged off the final phase of Mumbai metro’s third line creating the largest underground rail network in India. An integrated common mobility app offering single ticketing option across various services was launched on the occasion.

Modi, who had presided over the ground breaking ceremony of Navi Mumbai airport in 2018, said his government has been committed to building new airports and making air travel accessible to all.

Emphasising that the construction of new airports and the Udan scheme have provided convenience to citizens, the Prime Minister highlighted that India has now become the world’s third largest domestic aviation market.
