Malaysia Airlines increase Thiruvananthapuram-Kuala Lumpur service to daily flights

Malaysia Airlines has increased the Thiruvananthapuram-Kuala Lumpur service to daily. Till now, the service was operated 5 days a week.

The increase in service will benefit passengers and tourists from Kerala as there is ample connectivity from Kuala Lumpur to various parts of the world including Australia and New Zealand.

With this increase, there will be 11 weekly services from Thiruvananthapuram to Kuala Lumpur. Air Asia operates 4 services a week, said a press release.

Due to the low fares, passengers from other states are also arriving at Thiruvananthapuram and travelling to Kuala Lumpur, sources in the industry said.

Meanwhile, the winter schedule announced by Thiruvananthapuram International Airport marked a 22 per cent increase in weekly flight operations compared to the Summer Schedule of 2025.

Under the new schedule, the TRV airport will handle 732 weekly Air Traffic Movements (ATMs), up from 600 in the Summer 2025 schedule. This expansion underscores the airport’s growing connectivity and its increasing preference among domestic and international airlines.

The new destination added included Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru, and Trichy. International flight operations will see a nine percent growth, rose from 300 weekly ATMs to 326.

The new winter schedule reflects Thiruvananthapuram International Airport’s growing importance as a preferred gateway to Kerala and beyond. With enhanced connectivity and new routes, the airport continues to support regional mobility and economic growth, officials said.

Adani Airport Holdings Limited, which manages the airport, is to develop it as the most preferred airport at the southern tip of the country integrating land, air, and sea transport for both passenger and cargo operations.
