Gujarat Pipavav Port signs MoU with NYK India for enhancing RoRo infrastructure

Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited on Wednesday signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NYK India Private Limited to enhance the RoRo infrastructure at Pipavav Port in Gujarat, capable of handling 5,00,000 cars annually.

This strategic partnership with NYK focuses on developing specialised RoRo infrastructure with an emphasis on reducing dwell time. It will also enable seamless vessel–rail synchronisation to manage growing rail volumes at Pipavav Port, while advancing sustainable and more efficient logistics, the company stated in a filing with the stock exchanges.

The company which has Maruti Suzuki and Honda Motors as their two main customers expects the RoRo volumes being handled at the port to grow at 20-25 percent this fiscal. In the first half of this fiscal, Pipavav port handled 99,000 RoRo units which is 39 percent more than the 71,000 units handled between April-September FY 25.
