The top EV OEM (original equipment manufacturers) in India include Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motor India, Hero Electric, Bajaj Auto, Ola Electric and Ather Energy.

Officials from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Power Ministry and Niti Aayog are also expected to participate.

Earlier this week, the MHI issued draft guidelines for inviting proposals to avail incentives under the Prime Minister Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme for deployment of EV charging infrastructure in India.

The draft guidelines were shared with the stakeholders for their inputs/ comments, businessline reported earlier.

The scheme envisages to install ample public charging infrastructure for various vehicle categories, including over 22,000 EV chargers for electric four wheelers (e-4Ws) and 1,800 chargers for e-buses, to boost confidence among EV users.

Provision for establishing charging infrastructure for light EVs, such as electric two-wheelers (e-2Ws) and electric three-wheelers (e-3Ws) has also been made under the scheme.
