NEW DELHI: Airtel has made an early payment of Rs 8,465 crore to DoT to clear a portion of outstanding spectrum dues from 2016 auction. The move comes weeks after Airtel and Vodafone Idea lost a curative petition in SC over adjusted gross revenue judgement, that will see the companies pay thousands of crore of rupees to DoT till FY31-end. The spectrum auction in 2016 had seen Airtel acquire airwave rights for over Rs 14,000 crore.
