Corteva Agriscience has announced the launch of Pixxaro, a new broadleaf weed (BLW) control solution for wheat in India.
A post-emergent pre-mix of Arylex active and Fluroxypyr, Pixxaro is engineered to deliver strong, reliable control of tough BLWs with exceptional crop safety, helping wheat growers protect yield potential and quality, the company said in a statement.
BLWs in wheat, when left unmanaged, compete for nutrients, moisture, and light, eroding yield. Research, including a paper published by Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), indicates that uncontrolled BLWs can reduce wheat yields by up to 36 per cent. Despite this, BLW control is often deprioritised versus narrow-leaf weeds like phalaris minor, leading to regrowth, repeat applications, and visible crop shock with prevailing solutions.
Pixxaro redefines BLW management with one-shot, broad-spectrum efficacy on problematic species, including Chenopodium album, Rumex dentatus, and Medicago denticulate, said the company.
Growing resilience
The advanced formulation provides consistent performance in challenging conditions, including fog, supporting flexible application windows and dependable results across diverse environments.
Extensive research and farmer demonstrations conducted across key wheat-growing States, confirmed an excellent crop safety profile with strong BLW suppression and reduced regrowth. Pixxaro provides excellent broad-spectrum control of broadleaf weeds in a single pass, effectively managing tough-to-control species that currently require multiple solutions.
Corteva ensures responsible use through farmer stewardship initiatives, training, and best-practice guidance to ensure safe handling, regulatory compliance, and environmental care. Pixxaro furthers Corteva Agriscience’s commitment to science-driven crop protection solutions that safeguard crop health and grower profitability, the company said.
