The Ministry of Labour & Employment has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Mentor Together and Quikr to strengthen job access and personalised career mentoring through the National Career Service (NCS) portal, the country’s flagship digital employment platform.

Over the past year, the Ministry has signed MoUs with 10 key organisations, including Amazon and Swiggy, resulting in nearly five lakh new vacancies on the portal, the Ministry said in a statement.

It also stated that the partnership with Mentor Together is expected to reach two lakh youth in its first year, including one lakh NCS-registered job seekers and one lakh entrants from the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). The initiative will offer personalised career mentoring, supported by over 24,000 trained professionals, with a city- and district-level outreach to ensure no jobseeker is left behind.

Simultaneously, the renewed MoU with Quikr seeks to further strengthen the employment ecosystem by integrating over 1,200 daily job listings across 1,200+ cities from Quikr Jobs directly into the NCS portal. This collaboration will enhance real-time access to job opportunities, especially for youth in rural and underserved areas.

The MoUs were signed at a formal ceremony in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, and Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Shobha Karandlaje.

Addressing the gathering, Mandaviya cited the World Economic Forum’s ‘Future of Jobs Report 2025’, stating that India’s unemployment rate stands at just 2 per cent, the lowest among G20 nations. He attributed this to the government’s employment-centric policies, rapid economic growth, and an ecosystem of targeted schemes such as MUDRA, PM SVANidhi, and the recently launched PM-VBRY.

He said that the NCS platform has emerged as a one-stop solution for employment-related services, with 52 lakh registered employers, 5.79 crore job seekers, 7.22 crore vacancies mobilised, and over 44 lakh active vacancies currently available.

The Minister said that would create suitable employment opportunities as well as structured mentoring available to job-seekers, particularly in light of the PM-VBRY coming into effect in August this year. “It will ensure that the future of this country, and of its youth, is bright,” he stated.
