Mumbai 13, 2017: India has been witness to exponential growth in recent years in the telecom sector and has witnessed penetrative growth in telecom usage in urban India. Penetration in rural areas is still though a concern with quite a few challenges in the form of availability of power supply and the quality. With TRAI recommendation to initiate measures to green the telecom sector, Indian companies are at their innovative best to accomplish the transformation.
Indus Tower has presented a unique innovation “Green Cooling Solution for Telecom Towers: Solar Cooling Unit” at the Aegis Graham Bell Award Jury Round under the “Green Telecom” category. The solution provided would enable the site to operate at zero cooling cost and will use solar power for forced air circulation along with natural air to avoid the use of any fossil fuel. The solution removes heat from the telecom tower shelter by using a combination of solar-powered exhaust fans & wind driven multiple turbine ventilators.
“Aegis Graham Bell Jury round is very well coordinated and managed. It was a great experience to come down and learn from within the industry and work happening with fast change of pace. This platform gives us a good place to share our business innovation and product development areas. All the very best for leading this ICT category and great to partner with Aegis Graham Bell Award” – Mr. Rajesh Bansal, National Head – Energy, Indus Towers.
